Jumbo
Groupe Auchan enters the Portuguese market under the Jumbo and Pão de Açúcar hypermarket chains.

Recognised price positioning leader, the chain offers a wide selection of low-cost products. It has also developed a wide offering of biological products and has created a range of "Vida Auchan" products from the agricultural sector.
In terms of fresh products, it has created an "Auchan visa" for its suppliers, based on hygiene and traceability criteria.

Through its first international subsidiary, named Oney since 2008, Banque Accord manages the private cards of the group’s hypermarkets and specialised chains. Immochan manages more than 300 shops in shopping centres.

Jumbo

1996 The group acquires the Portuguese activities of the Pão de Açúcar group; the hypermarkets become part of the Jumbo and Pão de Açúcar chains.
1999 The employee share ownership scheme is launched.
2000 Banque Accord forms an alliance with Cofinoga by acquiring a majority shareholding in Crediplus, which manages the Jumbo hypermarkets payment cards.
2005 Banque Accord takes 100% control of Crediplus. The company Immochan Portugal is created.
2007 @Jumbo is launched.
2009 Opening of 2 Jumbo and 3 Pão de Açúcar .
