| Auchan around the world |
For its first location outside France, at the start of the 80s, Groupe Auchan created the Alcampo hypermarket chain. Recognized for its pricing market position, this chain created "self-discount" sections in its stores and offers a wide range of budget products. The chain also adopted a strong quality approach: it developed an offering of products originating from the "Auchan Production Contrôlée" range and set itself the goal of obtaining ISO 9001: 2000 quality certification for all its hypermarkets.
The group also developed in Spain through the Sabeco and Simply Market supermarket chains.
