Training: a cornerstone of the human resources policy 

Training is one of the keys to the success. Courses, adapted to the local context, are dispensed all along employees’ career. Development of new training programmes, in particular via e-learning, synergies between countries and chains, creation of training stores… each employee should have the opportunity to improve his or her professional qualifications and benefit from the company’s strong internal promotion policy. Training enables everyone to find fulfilment in their work, to refine their know-how, and to develop skills that can be passed on to others. For this reason, every employee benefits from an individual development track specific to his or her particular business line and products.

Internal mobility

The group is determined to open up real career prospects for all of its employees. All store management positions are accessible via internal promotion. At Auchan Retail France, 38% of the department managers are recruited internally, and Simply Market has set itself an internal recruitment target of 70%.

Talent management

Since 2010, the talent management policy was reinforced by implementing a shared definition. From Europe to China, talent-spotting processes have been developed, inside and outside the company, notably by means of “people reviews” or dedicated programmes. Their purpose is to ensure business development while being responsive to individual career projects: they encourage and support professional development through hands-on management.
