By diversifying the recruitment methods and organising preparatory job training courses, the Group chains give a chance to job applicants of varied backgrounds.
In France, 80% of Auchan’s job offers are open to candidates without diploma or experience requirements; recruitment is conducted on the basis of the personal competencies and qualities of candidates. The personnel of Banque Accord brings together some employees from 17 different countries. The two chains have formalised their commitments by signing a Charter of Diversity.
This is based on a strengthening of professional qualifications through training courses, and proximity-oriented management based on the accountability of each employee.
The company also wishes to give each employee real career perspectives through internal promotion.
In France, 38% of Auchan's department managers have acceded to their posts through internal promotion and Simply Market has set itself a target of 70%.
The chains have developed motivating remuneration systems based on profit sharing. Furthermore, the employee share ownership scheme is developed as soon as possible in most of the countries where the company is present.
To measure the level of employee satisfaction, internal opinion surveys are carried out regularly: these allow the identification of areas of progress leading to concrete actions.
A pro-active policy for the integration of handicapped persons...
In all its countries, the Group applies a policy of including disabled employees in its workforce. The percentage of disabled people it employs is often higher than the legal threhold, and this is particularly true of China and Spain. In this country, the Alcampo initiative has received many accolades. In France, Auchan has renewed its company agreement, whilst Atac has been running a Disabled Employment Programme for over 10 years now.
